ABOUT THE REDWOOD EMPIRE CHAPTER
Our Mission
The Redwood Empire Chapter of the US Green Building Council is comprised of the most dedicated Northern California leaders for sustainable lifestyle and business offering opportunities to learn, connect and contribute. It’s you making the difference in your community.
What is the Redwood Empire?
The Chapter is named for the coastal region of Northern California where the Coastal Redwood tree (sequoia sempervirens) is found. Roughly, the Redwood Empire extends along the Coastal Mountains from just north of San Francisco to the Oregon border. The Redwood Empire Chapter's territory includes: Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino, Lake, Humboldt and Del Norte Counties.
In addition to majestic Redwood forests, the region is known for its wine production, especially in Sonoma and Napa Counties. The coast along this stretch of California is some of the most beautiful on the West Coast. Agriculture is still predominant in most of the region, with much of the development along the Highway 101 corridor.
We are a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, membership organization providing green building and sustainability training, seminars and events.
